​​Schools and educators face chronic underfunding and a huge repair backlog. Students face extreme heat, smoky air, and an uncertain future. And parents, already struggling to keep up, are being pressured to outsource education to American "AI" technology without consultation or any kind of analysis of the harms, risks, or privacy concerns.

 

Meanwhile, the provincial government has interfered again in Toronto's local democracy, slashing Trustee seats and transferring statutory powers into an unelected Supervisor role.​​

Challenging times call for capable hands. Etobicoke families deserve a Trustee who can hit the ground running, bringing the community together to overcome these challenges. I know I can do that - because I have done it. ​When Doug Ford tried to rip up Ontario's modernized curriculum in his first term, I helped organize campaigns in support of the students who forced him to back down. When the Trudeau government was backpedaling on their net-zero accountability bill, I helped write the policy amendments needed to strengthen it, and helped lead the campaign that successfully passed it into law.

I'm running for Trustee to put my years of experience with governance,  policy design, and advocacy to work for Etobicoke. I'm running because I believe we need and deserve an organizer, problem solver, and consensus builder who can bring parents, students, and educators together to get things done. ​I'm running, first and foremost, because my kids are about to enter the school system, and I am the kind of dad who believes in doing all I can to ensure that my kids - and all our kids - have the best possible future available to them.
